Myoko Sky Cable

The Myoko Sky Cable is the Akakura Kanko Resort gondola which takes you half way up Mt Myoko for some beautiful views of the area. It is open during the green season which runs from July until the beginning of November. The gondola costs ¥1,800 for adults and ¥900 for children. Pets are  allowed to ride on the gondola for free. Once at the top you will get some amazing views and can play on the rope swings and relax on the hammocks. The are some great trails that you can walk through the forest. There are guided tours you can also take, but these are in Japanese.

At the top is a small restaurant where you can get some great food and drink as well as an ice-cream. The food is reasonably priced, you can get a soup and vegetable bread set for ¥950 or a panini for ¥650. If the weather is good, this is a beautiful place to take a walk and then have lunch. You will also be able to get some spectacular photos, especially if you visit in the Autumn when the leaves are changing colour.
