Myoko Kogen Sky Cable

The Myoko Sky Cable is the Akakura Kanko Resort gondola which takes you half way up Mt Myoko (1,300 meters) for some beautiful views of the area. It is open during the green season which runs from July until the beginning of November. The gondola costs ¥2,000 for adults and ¥1,000 for children. Pets are allowed to ride for free. Once at the top you will get some amazing views and can play on the rope swings and relax on the hammocks. The are some great trails that you can walk through the forest. There are guided tours you can also take, but these are in Japanese.

At the top is a small restaurant where you can get some food and drink as well as a delicious ice-cream. At the bottom of the gondola is the Kanko bakery that serves a variety of drinks and amazing freshly prepared sandwiches and other baked goods and sweets. If the weather is good, this is a beautiful place to take a walk and then have lunch. You will also be able to get some spectacular photos, especially if you visit in the autumn when the leaves are changing colour.
