Ski Resorts
Madarao Mountain Resort sits on the border of Nagano and Niigata prefectures and is particularly popular with skiers and snowboarders looking for powder snow, ungroomed terrain and tree runs.
The resort offers a wide variety of terrain for all ability levels, with spectacular views of Mount Myoko and the surrounding mountains. A joint Mountain Pass provides access to neighbouring Tangram Ski Circus, allowing visitors to explore both resorts.
For the 2026–27 winter season, Madarao is introducing an expanded snow-play area with a 100-metre moving walkway, sledding facilities and dedicated beginner terrain, making the resort even more welcoming for families.
Night skiing is available on selected dates throughout the winter season.
